My best friend’s niece, who was born in the state of Maine, needed speech therapy before starting kindergarten. She applied for state assistance, but was denied because she wasn’t an immigrant. Her mother was told by the HHS worker that she wasn’t at the top of the list because she wasn’t from outside the country and would need to find help elsewhere. Thank goodness she was smart enough to call BS and filed a suit against the state of Maine. 4 weeks after the letter from the lawyer, her daughter received the services she needed. Governors like Mills need to be barred from politics, they don’t care about actual American citizens.
