This voter ID has been coming for a long time. I use to be a poll worker. The sign in use to be a just a paper book until it went electronic about 5 yrs ago. So you ballot has numbers on it and it gets flashed into a credit card like machine. Well, that machine is set up to flash a picture drivers license too making your vote legit or not. BTW they still use the paper signature sign in too.
