To answer your question President Lincoln declared that slavery was abolished on January 1, 1863, so it was 163 years ago. and I agree with you that the Black society is the most privileged in the USA. When I worked for a major retail company where we had a Black “lady” working in an office position. Every day she was a minimum 30 minutes late up to an hour with no excuse. Then she would fall asleep at her desk because she spent her hours after work, next to a relative who sold knock off merchandise, begging late into the evening. Nothing was done because if anything was addressed with her should would yell discrimination. Nothing was done until one day she was asleep at her desk and she fell out of her chair. Then and only then did they address her problem and continued to write her up until they had enough to fire her. They fired her and never heard from her again, because altho they didn’t address the problem until she fell out of her chair they had kept a record of all her infractions and complaints from co-workers about her behavior. I as an indigenous/Latina disagreed with my direct supervisor and was right after that demoted from my secretarial position to the desk line. I had a stellar record and reputation, but not the backing of the NAACP.
